Our rep showed up the other day to give a presentation on lapel pins and embroidered patches. Having been in the business for almost 20 years, I was starting to fall asleep. I can’t begin to tell you how many custom lapel pins I’ve seen in my life. Die cast, Die struck, cloisonne, poly dome, etched and color fill, etc., etc., etc. (In case you don’t know the difference between these different processes, drop us a note with your shipper number and we will forward samples to you). Then we moved into the highly exciting field of patches. Without going into too much detail, I was equally bored. Then he came out with the hardware!!!

These were one of the most unique decoration processes I’ve seen. The metal was so thin, yet real sturdy. He had a few samples of the metal attachments and each one was curved specifically to the shape of the glass. My mind started racing. Wow… these are great for these glasses, but what else could we do with them? I would really like to use them for limited edition growlers. Another great feature is that they can also be custom shapes.

The next thing that drew my attention was the pricing. Minimum orders are 144 units and the prices ranged from $5 to $8, with the pints falling under $6.50 and ceramic mugs at $6 and $7. Current selection also includes insulated tumblers.

During 2011 Professional Gifting developed a proprietary design that we call MagnaTap. These are totally custom made tap handles that offer an interchangeable, high quality acrylic magnet. The beauty of these are that the magnets are when a brewery rolls out a new beer, there is no need to create a new tap handle. You simply change out the magnet.

We designed this product two different ways. The Triton Tap is designed with only 1 magnet cavity. This can keep your total cost down, but for taps that are mounted on the bar the magnet is not visible to the bar tender. We typically use a removable label. Further down the the head is our Flat 12 tap handle. This has a cavity on the front and the back.

Pricing on these can be as low as $18 each in larger quantities. An absolute minimum order is 100 units.

With the evolution of distinct beer breweries across America, comes a new beverage container that has become a staple product… The Beer Growler.

The big question most of our customers ask is… Where can we get them? Why are they so hard to find? Well the truth is that you can find them pretty easily in small quantities at places like KegWorks or KegKits.com. What you will most likely find is minimal stock availability.

If you are looking for growlers for your brewery, we offer a number of different selections.  First and foremost, we have been doing the basic brown growler utilizing a wrap imprint.  This allows the bottle to be printed with one pass.  Unfortunately it only works using a 1 color print. Price falls in the $3 to $4 range, depending on quantity. Add plastisol seals for freshness for $.20 each. You will note that the box on the front is a write on space, so that different batches of brew can use the same bottle.

The next level of growler are the European style. Once again, we can decorate these a number of ways. The image below is sand blasted and color filled.

We can do as few as 10 of these at one time, but the price falls in the $50 range, plus setup. This only includes a front logo and does not get the required warning label on the back. Which moves us to the next option. Provided that you do at least 100 units,you can screen print the front, screen print warning info on the back and that gets your price in the range of $25 for long term customers to $30 for 1 time orders. There are $125 in setup charges.

Availability is sometimes tough, for a few reasons. First of all, the design has a number of patents that are strictly enforced. This is also why you can’t find them being knocked off from some factory in China.

Next, they are made in Germany. For those of you that don’t know Germans, they remind me a lot of Key West residents. There’s rarely a sense of urgency to certain things. Beer consumption is much more important than making beer bottles. Back to business… Basically the manufacturer can not keep up with sales. If you were to place an order for 25 cases (10 per case) of bottles today, you would be very lucky to get them in 75-90 days.

As far as pricing is concerned, we can’t even give you an accurate price due to the fluctuation of the dollar compared to the Euro. Here is an approximate estimate.  If you are looking to use the standard metal handle, the prepaid price as of 12-7-10 would fall in the $20 range, blank.  Add $2.75 for placing your logo in one color on one side.

If you are considering a more traditional growler, prices fall in the $3 to $5 range, depending on a number of decorating options. This style can typically be produced in 3-4 weeks.

The other thing to consider is the fact that we are in the Midwest. Growlers are big and heavy.  Our shipping rates are most likely better than the competition.

We just received our latest shipment of lighted coasters and they turned out great!!!

Our unique option is the fact that they can be run both by battery and direct current. The batteries are ideal for short term venues with limited access to power, such as tastings and sampling. The direct current is ideal for placement at the restaurant or lounge bar.

One on-premise  promotion we have seen are a lighted coaster being given away in bottle clubs or a coaster being given away for the purchase of a drink. The salesperson delivers 100 bottle glorifiers with a 10 case purchase.

Our factory will also start running smaller minimum quantities.  We can do as low as 250 units.
