We have a customer that is looking to change their logo. Here are the choices below. Please leave detailed comments on all 3. Include your web address and we will post your link on one of our networks of sites.

I like the first logo best, because it tells me what Jacobites are, and because it reflects something about their heritage. I would, however, suggest a slightly cleaner font because I had a difficult gettting the word “Jacobites” out of it until I studied it closely. Maybe not all caps would help, too.
The second logo is my least favorite. Looks like an Islamic organization, with Islamic script. Nothing wrong with that, but I’m not aware of too many Islamic bag-pipe bands.
The third logo is the cleanest, but tells me nothing about the organization.

#1 looks best to me as #2 does not look like the entity it is trying depict, and #3 looks too much like someone else’s logo though can’t name it..In my own humble opinion….. Hope this helps.
I did some online research –
#1: Very traditional type of logo for a pipe & drum band – but not as ‘unique’ as some others I’ve seen online. My first impression of the upper print font was ‘Taco’ Bites
Would change the upper font & get away from the ‘circle’…maybe put it on a ‘family crest’ type of background.
#2: looks more ‘jazzy’, but I wouldn’t know that it was for a Pipe & Drum band
#3: BORING…

I would select Version 2. All of the logos are difficult to read.
Prefer the #1 because it identifies what the group does; however the font is an awful choice. It is difficult to read and looks like taco. I like the traditional look but it could be cleaned up a little and I think a simpler font might be enough. #2 and 3 don’t do it at all, at least for me.
Of the 3, I like # 1 the best. However, the font used makes it difficult to read – if you elimiated some of the curly ques it would display better. I like the logo displaying typical Scottish emblems.
The others really are non-descript and don’t give you a feeling that they represent the pipe and drum corp.
I think it’s unanimous – Number 1 is definitely the best, but the name at the top needs to be in a cleaner font. I do like the family crest idea too, and that’s probably worth a quick mock-up.
I prefer #1 both graphically and as a brand symbol.
# 2 is a disconnection between who you are and how you look.
# 3 is cold, and the font does not go with the heraldic graphic.
#1 is definitely my favorite, as it illustrates who the Jacobites are. Neither of the others do this, making it impossible to identify with them.
The colors in #1 also really stand out.
#1 Best, but I agree that “Jacobites” is hard to decipher and took time to figure out what is says.
#2 Too modern and doesn’t reflect the traditional type organization
#3 Too plain. Might be ok with fancier writing. Like the logo.
I like #1 the best, but agree that the font is difficult to read. I would pull the text out of the circle, and maybe use a different font that is easier to read. I would also consider whether or not this logo would look a nice as a one color logo, or how well it would reproduce on perhaps a small promotional item, such as a pen? Be sure to consider all of the possible ways the logo may be reproduced.
#2 This looks arabic, not sure if that is the intent? If not, perhaps a different font would change the feel.
#3 This looks like inexpensive clip art
In terms of logo simplicity – a well designed logo can be easily drawn in the sand and still be easily recognizeable. # 2 comes closest to that rule of thumb.
All of these have possibilities! It’s hard to say without knowing more about the objectives for this logo. Good job! Good luck!
well thinking about salable clothing you also have to think about your key demographic, I would say the majority of your buyers are going to know who the jacobites are. I personally like the 3rd graphic for apparel its rather simple and the celtic lion is a nice logo. it would also look nice on a few different colors (yellow blue white, and with a change of font of font color black)
To repeat, #1 – with clear modifications to the type – the readability is poor. Be sensitive to the type size as well – it does not have to scream. #2 is a total disconnect and #3 is so Heraldic and far too many people are using that symbol.
Honestly I don’t like any of them.
1) The name has pipes and drums in it so why isn’t there an image of a drum included in the logo? the flower looks out of place and the font is hard to read.
2)Looks like a logo for a set of golf clubs.
3)Looks like something from another brand.
I would continue with having the graphic designer look into what products are to be sold, if the products are a low or high end line,and if you want to promote the name or the product brand.

Seems it’s unanimous, as I’m also a fan of #1. Very colorful and provides an idea of what the Jacobites are. Font is a bit tricky to read.
I really like the first one. It grabs my attention.
I’m late (was on vacation). #1 is best with a little cleaner font (the one you’re using is hard to read). Also, #1 actually says what the Jacobites are (is?). #2 looks sort of cartoonish. #3 looks like a logo for a bottle of booze.
I vote #1 as well. The real reason for our input has to be more about marketing Ken than just a simple survey. Brilliant. Now you have our email and website info. Brilliant.

The first one is too hard to read. Logos need to be readable at a glance. The Next two are not very attractive either. I would use the first keeping the seal and changing the font.
I prefer logo 1.
